What Affects the Price?
Condition
Screen scratches, dents, and keyboard wear all reduce the offer. A MacBook Air in excellent cosmetic condition with no marks will always command the top end of the range.
Battery Health
MacBook Air batteries are rated for 1,000 charge cycles. If yours is below 80% capacity, expect the offer to reflect that. Check in System Settings → Battery → Battery Health.
Storage
256GB models have dropped the most in value since Apple lowered the base price. If you have 512GB or 1TB, you're in a better position.
M2 vs. M3 Air — Does It Matter?
The M3 Air released in early 2024 and is still being sold new. The M2 Air has held its value reasonably well because it's still fast, capable hardware. But now that the M4 Air has arrived, M2 prices have softened slightly — making now a good time to sell before the next dip.
